Gus -10 year old Irish Draught
Gus is a 10 yr old irish draught used for general riding activities, he has a few medical conditions which are currently managed and has recently had his stifles medicated, he has previously been a regular visitor to the treadmill for weekly sessions.
Gus stayed for 5 nights and 6 days as a resident at Field Equine Vets for holiday/ rehabilitation livery whilst his owner was on holiday.
Whilst in resident at Field equine he has received 6 treadmill sessions ranging from 18 -20 minutes in duration, using up to a mid-cannon level water 3.5 and a 2 % incline this is to encourage more core and hindlimb engagement. Alongside the treadmill he has also done 2 days in hand and long reining work in the menage up to 20 minutes duration, using the equicore band system with both abdominal and hind limb bands, over a mixture of flat and raised poles. He also received medical grade IV laser therapy on his thoracic and lumbar regions using 15 watts for 720 seconds.
